New Cochrane review finds the benefits of intermittent fasting 'fail to match the hype'

This week ABC News featured a new Cochrane review that weighs up the evidences from 22 studies on intermittent fasting. 

The review found little to no improvement in weight loss for people who were overweight or obese compared with having regular dietary advice or doing nothing at all.  

Other experts say intermittent fasting can be hard to study and there may be some benefit, but it may not reduce metabolic health risks or be sustainable in the long term.
