Cochrane Australia and the National Covid-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce have much to reflect on and celebrate this World Evidence-Based Health Care Day. Held on 20 October, this annual global event highlights the need for better evidence to inform health care, and recognises the efforts of hard-working researchers, policymakers, clinicians and health workers everywhere.

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Chris Del Mar AM, Professor of Public Health at Bond University and one of Australia’s most prolific and generous Cochrane contributors.

Cochrane Australia is playing an active role in the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce and continues to collaborate in international efforts to understand, contain and stop the spread of coronavirus.

A new Cochrane Library Special Collection published today brings together reviews on evidence-based interventions to reduce stillbirth and improve care for families after stillbirth and in a subsequent pregnancy, identify women at increased risk of stillbirth, and improve knowledge of causes of and contributors to stillbirth.
